Doch muß auch ´mal Revolution sint:
Nach langem Frieden und Sklavendruck
Muß auch einmal Sensation sint.

Es muß auch "stete Entwicklung" sint,
Ich kann es nicht leugnen, ich löge:
Was wäre sonst die ganze Wissenschaft wert,
Wenn sie jählings zum Teufel flöge?

Doch muß auch ein wenig Katastrophe sint,
Daß die Ausnahm die Regel beweise –
Selbst wenn sie den ganzen Ordnungsgang
Klapps! über den Haufen schmeiße ...
