Hätte man wohl geglaubt, daß unser Briefwechsel noch Triptolem´s Kunst betreffen und daß es auf die Frage ankommen würde, wer von uns beiden sein Feld am besten baue? Indeß ist jene Kunst die erste von allen, und ohne sie gäbe es keine Kaufleute, keine Höflinge, keine Könige, Dichter und Philosophen. Nur das ist wahrer Reichthum, was die Erde hervorbringt.

Il n´y a de vraies richesses que celles que la terre produit.
