Dass das ganze »Dritte Reich« eine schändlich dumme Episode der deutschen Geschichte war, keineswegs aus Früherem notwendig sich ergebend, zusammengeflossen aus einer Kette von Zufällen, Irrtümern, vermeindlichen Stümpereien, genau dies war auch immer meine Ansicht.
