Es gab eine Zeit, da wurden Sarangispieler "Gurus" und "Ustads" genannt, weil sie so gelehrt waren, dass sie Sängern das ein oder andere beibringen konnten. Es war nicht überraschend, dass viele von ihnen Sänger wurden und sich unabhängig einen Namen machten.

At one time, sarangi exponents used to be called "gurus" and "ustads" because they were so learned that they could teach vocalists a thing or two. It wasn´t surprising that many of them turned into vocalists and made a name for themselves independently.
